Menstruation, 2024
I produced this video to accompany a drag performance I did at the event "VerDragt Euch #4" in Festsaal of Uni Wien, Vienna.
The text was originally written by the Viennese rapper Maja Deimbacher-Sand but for the purpose of the video it was slighty adjusted by me and Lena Ruziczka.
I got the super talented and amazing actress Lena Ruziczka on board to read the text out loud and my good friend and videographer Robert Puteanu to film the whole thing. I edited the video and during my performance I supported the message by bleeding live, in front of the audience.
Menstruation is the most natural thing in life for people with uterus and we do not get enough acknowledgement or representation around the struggle and pain that is connected to it. This message is us, Maja, Lena and me making our bloody mark on society and taking up space.
